What is studied in Axiom Maths circles?
Axiom Maths is a taught enrichment programme that takes pupils beyond the school curriculum. In maths circles pupils are stretched beyond what they’d encounter in lessons, and explore more challenging topics. This isn’t about extra pressure or harder tests. They dive into hard maths purely for the joy of doing so.
Each session is designed to take one hour and there are 10 sessions in one block. Below are two examples of the kind of problems your child will encounter early on.

In this problem, your child will need to be:
- Adventurous — trying things out, even if it might not work. Trying 2 in the first row is a great idea, but it doesn’t work out!
- Articulate — they will need to explain to other pupils why 2 isn’t correct, using mathematical vocabulary correctly to describe the factor of 6 which is not a factor of 20.
- Accepting — listening to others on the programme when they say they have a different solution to them and together creating a justification that the two solutions they have are the only ones.
