After your first year, your Year 7 circle moves up into Year 8, and you will start a new circle with the next Year 7s. Your programme grows from there.
Scaling up works best when the whole department is on board. A champion from your school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) makes a real difference. Share what you are doing with your colleagues and your SLT early.
A few things that help:
- Invite a member of SLT to sit in on or join one of your circles. Seeing a circle in action is often the best way for them to understand the programme.
- When your Axiom Maths contact comes in for a programme development visit, invite a member of SLT along to meet them.
Your Axiom Maths contact is there to help you plan for next year, so do get in touch.
At the end of each year you will be invited to commit to growing Axiom Maths at your school by starting a new circle. In some cases schools find it challenging to keep growing if they do not have capacity to do so. There are different options that can be discussed with your Axiom Maths contact if this is the case. For example, you might consider transitioning a circle to the online programme.
