Creating a group
Click Create New to set up a group. Here's what each field is asking for:
- Group Name — Choose a name that's unique and easy to identify. Using your school name plus a number works well. Avoid generic names like 'Group 1', which can cause confusion across the Hub.
- School — If you're already assigned to a school, this will be pre-filled and greyed out.
- Lead/MExC — Assign yourself or the MExC for your school to this role. In most cases you'll only see your own name here.
- Mentor — As above. You must assign yourself to at least one of the Lead/MExC or Mentor roles.
- Day of Session — Select the weekday your group meets. If sessions run across more than one day, enter the first day and add a note explaining the full schedule.
- Time of Session — Enter a time between 8:00am and 8:00pm. If sessions run across more than one time slot, enter the first and use the notes field to explain.
- First session date — The date your first session will take place. This helps us know when to expect your attendance data, so we're not chasing you unnecessarily.
- Notes — Use this for anything useful to you or to us. For example, if you have sixth form volunteers supporting your circle, add that here.
Assigning pupils to a group
Once your group is created, click on the group name or the three dots on the right to edit it and add pupils.
Assigning a new mentor to a group
New mentors need to register for the Hub. Once they are registered, a MExC can assign the new mentor to their maths circle group.
